Hate the Day Job is a project that I've been wanting to work on for a few years, a comic book story that combines my love of character writing with my pathetically intricate knowledge of mythology. The story acts as a sort of theoretical pilot for a series that tells the story of Isis, a recently widowed mother, in her efforts to both take her late husband's place in the company and attempt to find his murderer. The book combines several myths and legends from ancient Egypt into one coherent plotline, and combines my writing, set design, character design, and illustration skills to create an entirely unique product. In essence, it is a directorial effort.
