I believe it is important for people to understand their own culture as well as other cultures. I also believe it is important for children to read books as a way of learning. This is why I chose to write and create a children's book to describe different Chinese New Year traditions in a fun and interactive way. In a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure format, the reader has a chance to explore three different story arcs while revealing different aspects of Chinese culture along the way. The design of the book focuses on the traditional Chinese art style of paper cutting while also focusing on some of the prominent colors of the culture.
