From Kitchen to Table
I like to think of cooking as an art form. It doesn’t have to be about adhering to a step-by-step recipe, measuring out every ingredient to the T, or counting down the minutes until your food should be done. As my grandmother taught me at a young age, cooking is about being intuitive, catering to your own palette, and creating a dish inspired by your own creativity. I realized this after learning specific skills and recipes by my grandmother and eventually was able to cook more creatively and easily. “From Kitchen to Table” is an iPad app which serves as an approachable guide to cooking which promotes confidence in the kitchen for beginners. It serves as a tool to teach cooking through a “skills” and “recipe” section which provides the user eventual knowledge of personal cooking taste and creativity. After the user goes through this app, they will be able to rely on their own creativity and individual taste preferences with confidence.
